Brenden is almost 9 months old!

I just can't believe it, but we're about there!

Here is the Daddy...

And the Mommy...

And the very naked Baby...

He is so ready for his bath. He came to the bathroom from the living room all by himself.

Brenden found a Nilla Wafer he had dropped.

Mommy caught him.

Now its time to get Mommy all messy.

Or just find another one.

He is just getting way too big!

Scentsy!

Chris and I have decided to do Scensty again! We really enjoyed it the last time we gave it a try. It was a lot of fun and we did really well with it. And this is the story of how it all happened.....

Every Wednesday night Chris and I have a Psych party. We usually have at least 2 couples over and we do dinner and games and watch Psych together. And let me tell you, last night was no exception. One of our friends we had over last night is running a business on campus this semester and part of that is running 3 swap meets on campus through out the semester. He was reading us some of the people and companies that have applied to be at the swap meet. Scentsy just happened to be one of them. We started talking about it and one of our friends wasn't sure what it was, so we dug out some of our extra scents and some warmers and an old brochure. She got really excited about it, and that spark I once had for Scentsy was there again. And Chris said that if I wanted to pick it up again that we could do it together. I was all for it! We signed up last night and with in the first 5 minutes of signing up, I had 2 parties lined up! I then made an announcement on facebook and have had a few offers to buy since then. Its pretty fabulous!

Scentsy is a great company and I'm really excited to get it going again. And it'll be so much fun to be doing something with my husband that will be making us money. Chris loves Scentsy and he is the go getter of the 2 of us. I think this was the absolute perfect time to start up again. Right before the holidays.

So just an update. We will be having an open house in a few weeks and also throwing a party for a friend in Rexburg sometime in December.

Our open house will be on Saturday, November 12th at 7pm. Since its an open house please feel free to come anytime from 7pm-9pm. There will be lots of great people, awesome games, yum yum food, and of course a ton to look at and smell. Hope to see everyone there!

Day 5

How important do you think education is?

1. Its important to be well educated and set that example for future generations.
2. Education is a necessity to get further in life.
3. Through education we can teach each other.
4. Knowledge is the key to everything that matters.
5. Having an education means that you have that much more to offer.

These reasons make education worth the battle of the long dreary hours of homework. Chris is going through school now and I am always so proud of him and support him the best that I can. He is so amazing. He goes to school 3 days a week, he works 35+ hours a week, and still has time for his family. I just don't know how he does it. I'm just constantly in awe of this great man! He is the reason why Brenden is such a great kid. Chris sets such a great example of hard work and dedication. Sure its hard, but not too much longer and it will definitely pay off.

And this is how education is important to our little family.

Day 4

Your favorite photograph of your best friend

I love this man, he is my very best friend and life wouldn't be the same thing with out him. He is so amazing and helps me everyday with so much. He is such a great husband and father. We have so much fun together and is so cute, strong, and everything to Brenden and I. I just thought everyone should know. THE END.

Brenden is growing up!

What Brenden is up to lately.

Bouncing like a mad baby
Climbing
Pulling himself up on things
Walking along the couches
Motor Boat cries
Chewing on everything he can get his hands on
Eating whole foods like crackers and fruit
Giving kisses
Babbling on and on
Signing more and milk
Telling us when he's all done eating
He can finally sit on his own
Unscrewing lids off of things he know he shouldn't
Chewing on electrical cords. No no!
Snuggling when he just wants to be held
Patting us on the back, so cute!
Making messes
Pointing to his nose and eyes
Waving

He really can do so much now, he's not the little baby that I brought home what seemed like just a few short months ago. I'll look away one day and he'll suddenly be a toddler, then he'll be going to preschool, and then the next thing that I know he'll be graduating high school. Just kidding. I know it won't go that fast, but he really is growing way too fast! I just don't know if I can handle it. Maybe we'll just have to have another baby. Okay, just kidding some more. We're going to wait awhile. I just want to enjoy this little boy before I miss it. I love him so much!

ABC Cookbook

This is a cookbook that Chris and I love. Chris' mom brought it with her on her trip to see us this last weekend. I thought I would share it, there are some pretty awesome recipes in here. Especially the Oatmeal Pancakes!

Day 3

Your first date

I just have to laugh at this for a minute.

Okay, now I'm ready for a story. Although I do remember my first date very well, I'll go ahead and tell you about my first date with my wonderful husband. I laugh because he thought it was the worst date ever and is very very embarrassed by it. I just thought that it was okay and that it was off because it was his first date in over 2 1/2 years. I wasn't expecting too much from it.

Chris reaction when I told him I was writing a blog story about our first date. "oh, boy!" The look on his face, priceless!

So onto the story....well a few hours before the date actually started. Don't worry, it's good.

I was watching the Dark Knight with a good friend as our date was supposed to started so I sent Chris a text asking if we could postpone an hour or so. After the movie I rushed home so I could start getting ready. Yeah, that's right, to start getting ready. Its a dang good thing it doesn't take me long. The whole time I'm begging my dad not to make my dad make me go on this date, trying to have him make an excuse for me. No go! He told me that I had made a promise to this guy while he was on his mission and that I should stand by it and he wasn't going to be the one to be in the middle of it. He said that if I really wanted to break the date, then I would have to do it myself. Man, way to make a girl feel guilty.

A little background on this promise that I had made Chris while he was on his mission. Chris and I had been writing eachother the last year of his mission. I had luckily started writing him as his girlfriend of over 2 years dear johned him. I guess I was just lucky enough to swoop in and grab him. Well in writing I had promised him a date thinking that he wouldn't have time for me. I mean after his mission he spent 3 months in England with his family and he was only going to be in Seattle for a week before school started up again. I just figured with getting ready for school and seeing all of his other friends that he just wouldn't have the time for me.

Boy was I WRONG!

So we did go on this date. It wasn't horrible as Chris puts it. He took me out to a Thai restaurant. I love Thai, you really have no idea. It was so delicious! After the food we kind of wandered around town for a bit. Everything he had planned had fallen through with all of the snow we were having. You have to understand, it does not snow in Seattle very often. He wanted to do stuff outside, way too cold. We went to go do Glow Golf, it closed 10 minutes before we got there. It was fun to wander around and tell different stories about different places. We ended up going to Cinnabon. I'd never been before. Yes, I am from Washington and had never been to a Cinnabon. According to Chris, it was a sin! We ended our date by him dropping me off at my house, as I open the door, we see my 5 year old little brother streaking across the hallway. Perfect ending to an evening? Well I think so, I love to end an evening with a great laugh.

Although this evening didn't sound super great, I had a lot of fun just getting to know this guy. Sure we got to know each other quite a bit being pen pals on his mission, but going on a date to get to know him was just so much better. Having a just okay evening made me feel really good knowing that he wasn't as perfect as I thought he was. It was so great. It let me know that he's just as weird and self conscious as I am. It made me feel like it could only get better from there. And look at us today, we've been married for over 2 great years and a wonderful, beautiful baby to show for it. Not to bad for a first date I must say.

I love you, Chris.

Day 2

Your favorite movie

Don't hate me, this is just the first thing that came to mind.

Okay, yes I am a sap that loves watching chick flicks, even if its all by myself. Chris doesn't enjoy watching them with me sadly, but on occasion I do sucker him into watching one with me and life is great!

Sewing Projects

This month has been so busy with traveling, family, birthday parties, and baby showers that I don't even know what to do with myself. And yes, this is still going on. I have a baby shower to go to on Saturday and I had no idea what to do for it. Well, that was until yesterday as I was dropping my mother-in-law off at the airport.

My best friend, Amanda is having her baby in December and here are a few gifts that I've made for that. Its been a busy 2 days of sewing.

A baby quilt I started Yesterday.

I really like it, hopefully all the green isn't too girly since they're having a boy.

The scraps.

About to start the cutting to make it ragged.

Post cutting.

A closer look. I love it! I almost want to keep it for Brenden. :)

Car seat cover for Baby Nixon.

A view without the car seat.

All rolled up and ready to go.

Here's a tag toy I made this afternoon for the bundle of joy.

And lastly, some burp cloths.

Up close.

And these are the projects I've been working on. I have to say, they have turned out most awesome! I am very excited for the baby shower on Saturday to show them off!
